CSAC Mailing Lists Update

Greetings to all of our list subscribers as we work on getting things set
up for the 1999-2000 season. There are three reasons for this pre-season
mailing.

First, our second annual on-line auction is now underway! We have even
more items to bid on than last year. There are a variety of outdoor
products, including but not limited to avalanche safety items. All items
are now open for bidding and all will close on Nov 18. There is a 
prominent link from our home page as well as the top of each major section
page. Or go directly to the auction (which is hosted by i-world.net) at

The second reason is to "dust off" the mailing list system. We'll get a
bunch of bounce notices for sure. If you have had a change of e-mail
address please take a moment to update it. There is a webpage dedicated to
this mail list distribution system and you can subscribe new addresses,
unsubscribe old addresses, and get the latest on any known problems from
this page. Please bookmark it for future reference. The maillist page is:

Finally, we always work hard on promoting the site this time of year so
that the greatest number of people will benefit from it. If you would be
willing to distribute some paper bookmarks to local shops to put on their
counter, to local clubs, or through other channels let us know and we'll
snail mail some to you. Every year numerous people around the world do
this for us and we appreciate the help.

Aside from these pre-season matters we generally do not send
website/project updates to these lists. If you would like to receive
periodic (but not exactly regular :) updates on the site and the CSAC
please subscribe to the list csac-updates@csac.org  You can do this from
the top "text banner" of any of main section pages.
