Hazard

The hazard, or danger, is a measure of risk in a given area at a particular time. It is usually with respect to the threat to people, property, or other human interests.

There is a universal scale established with five levels. Differences in the scale between countries are now very minor. For html and PDF versions see the CSAC danger scale section.
