Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1998 20:54:47 -0800 (PST) From: "Avalanche Center (CSAC)" Avalanche Center Update A day of snowcat skiing, avalanche course enrollments, safety gear, skis, snowshoes, and a whole lot more ... Our online auction will be in full swing the next two weeks, until items close Dec 4. Please help support this project and have some fun while your at it! A list of items is below, many are still at very low bids. Some are new in the past few days. Bulletins - Most bulletins for regions in North America are now being issued periodically. Check before you go! Our script linking key terms to our glossary has been improved some more (as part of an ongoing process). Our newest link for current conditions is to the reports covering Slovenia. Incidents - Four fatalities so far this year in North America. Reports on these are on our incidents section, along with some others which were not fatal and/or are outside North America. Please follow the bulletins and continue your avalanche education and help keep this section short. Education - Course listings are getting longer, with our Colorado and Utah lists being the most comprehensive. No other site on the net maintains such complete lists of classes being offered. There is also a long listing of schools/instructors you can contact directly. Our glossary is much improved but with the number of entries we have it will take a while to get the whole thing to where we want it. Other sections have not undergone any major revisions, although minor improvements are always ongoing. For a list of all files modified you can always follow the home page link to "Fresh Snow" and from the What's New page you can access a list of everything modified in the last week. The site has 800-1000 pages (non-graphics files) according to our an analysis recently run, so it might be a long list! A list of auction items follows the signature block - check it out, visit the auction, and help support this project!
