These shallow surface slabs lie upon good sliding surfaces and are likely to be easily triggered in very steep avalanche starting zones. In addition pockets of older wind drifted hard slab also exist in cliff areas. These slabs could be triggered by people who venture into extreme terrain. As skies clear shallow loose snow sluffs will likely occur on steep sunlit aspects.
