Temperature Forecast for 8,000´-9,000´: Rising into the low 20s. Ridge Top Wind Forecast for 10,000´: Southerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour. Snowfall Expected Next 24 Hours: 2 to 4" G E N E R A L - A V A L A N C H E - A D V I S O R Y The general avalanche is MODERATE above 8,000 feet. There, backcountry travelers could trigger recently developed wind slabs one to three feet in depth. Any extended periods of sunshine will make these slides more susceptible to failure on sunlit aspects as the day warms. Moderate hazard is not a green light; getting caught in one of these slides has the potential for severe consequences and caution is advised. Below 8,000 feet, the hazard is LOW and avalanches are unlikely except in very steep, wind loaded terrain where skiers or riders might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow wind slab.
