High Pressure
Also: Anticyclonic, Divergence
Meteorological (weather) terms.
An area of clockwise turning winds, high barometric pressure, and fair weather. (In the Northern Hemisphere.) The geostrophic (high altitude) winds are nearly circular on a large scale, but surface friction causes an outward component to the circular motion. This is called "divergence."
