Safe Travel and Self-Rescue Avalanche Course

Feedback from Past Students

Currently we have feedback from the two Level 1 modules this course grew out of. Module 2 covered Safe Travel and Module 3 covered Self-Rescue. In this course they are two Learning Paths within one course - LP 2 and LP 3. (Learning Paths 1 and 4 are "bookends" with the introduction and conclusion and have no previous analog with feedback.)

    • I thought the safe travel section was particularly well put together.
    • I enjoyed this module quite a bit.
    • The amount of time to complete this was reasonable.
    • [The case studies were definitely useful], I even read them out to my girlfriend (she hates hearing about it though as she doesn't come with me backcountry so the stories make her stress).
    • I wouldn't remove anything, all the parts of this module need the emphasis and time dedicated to them.
    • [I] Thought the time to complete was reasonable.
    • The lesson kept my interest and was presented in an understandable informative way.
    • Materials were well put together and easy to follow
    • I like case studies a lot.  It'd be nice if I could send a link to these last ones for people to read.  Might make a difference to my friends who dont think carrying all the proper gear is mandatory all the time.
    • It was long but, I was happy to spend the time.  I think all of the info is useful.
